The service was ok; the interactions themselves were fine, but the waitress came to check us and the food once and it was 3 or 4 minutes after we had been served, and then we had to wait a while until they are available to us to ask for the check (and the restaurant was not busy at all, occupied with only maybe 2 other tables next to ours). The food was disappointing and it feels bad to say because I always want to support Mexican restaurants whenever I can, but that should not be representative of good Mexican food. The decor was also everywhere in the square; it saw part bar, part dance / nightclub, part seafood restaurant, and they had some strange ad with handbags / purses and perfumes near the entrance that open their price tags. I think they still had Christmas decorations.
Try the taco enchilada combo. It's great! Visiting from Tejas.
I've always passed by this place and wondered about it. Well tonight I finally tried it. Chips and salsa are freshly made. They were delicious! We ordered the bean dip to go with it and that was good as well. Main course was the carnitas Andy husband ordered the chile verde. Both of these dishes are tried and true to Mexican cuisine. My husband's plate was delicious! The citrus was a delectable touch to the more fatty pork chunks. The carnitas that I had, on the other hand, had something left to be desired. They added a sweet tomato concoction that took away from the savory dish that carnitas should've been. The service was okay, at best. We had to keep flagging down the waitress for refills. And waiting for the check was abysmal. I ended up flagging the waitress for that, too. After over 5 minutes of waiting for our check to be finalized, we gave up and went to the counter. My curiosity has been satisfied and I don't think I'll be back only because it was subpar.
I had the chicken enchiladas with beans and rice and being a Latina woman that cooks..I give this a A+! The food was really good. I came with my Mom who had the same plate and my Aunt who had the Camarones and she loved them..I also tried it and the sauce on both plates were fantastic! My aunt's husband also had enchiladas and he enjoyed his very much! As for drinks I had Horchata and it was so delish!!! My Aunt has a Margarita and let me have a sip and let me tell you... That was a perfect blend of liquor and mix!! They are not cheap when it comes to drinks. They do have a separate bar. Pretty large restaurant. Clean.. Neat. The blinds are dated and old and I couldn't open it for more lighting but that's no biggie. The restrooms clean great for handicap/ wheelchair access. There is no changing table in the bathroom. There are high chairs for kids. The waitress was pretty friendly. We had a great experience in a lovely environment!
