There are T a wall candy. A coke cooler. A counterpiece for sitting or standing! A very funny time. The building dates from 1880 with a tin roof and an original marble counter.
Mercer mercantile and Soda Shop is a good idea when you visit Mercer or the area. It is a great, old-fashioned place with a rustic feeling. The owners are very nice and can make over 55 types of pop/soda and ice specialities. There are also antique collectors in the store.
Big milkshakes and swimmers. Many historical objects. One of the most unique shops in the area.
We went to Mercer to get sweep bags that we could only find in the hardware store in Mercer! Then we decide to visit some of the shops in the city! Our favorite place was the Mercantile Soda Shop! Donna, who makes the soda and told us the story of the shop! We had our soda and a miracle chat with Donna and also meeting Grace, the owner of the shop! We had a wonderful time for these ladies to make you feel like family! When you stop visiting Mercer area Hello to Donna Grace say! Thank you. Ladies, we really enjoyed our visit! We will visit you both again!!!
Call before planning a trip!!! I just drove over an hour to arrive at 9:59a (1 minute before opening according to the online hours). When I pulled up there was a huge sign stating that they open at 11am. Ok, no problem. I decided to hang around town until they opened. At 11:10a they still weren't open so I walked up to the door. There was a small sign saying winter hours they may be open and they may not. I tried to call to leave the owner message that they might want to update their online hours or place on the huge sign that it is winter hours and no voicemail. I literally wasted my entire morning.
