Mind, Body Soulfood - Meriden

My first time here and my order was DELICIOUS. The mac and cheese is so cheesy and the spice in the cabbage gave an unexpected twist my mouth enjoyed! Definitely will be returning!!!

I went to this restaurant for lunch and ordered the chicken dinner. I was disappointed to find that it only came with two chicken wings. The mac and cheese was decent, but receiving only two wings for a $14.99 dinner was ridiculous. I will not be returning to this place.

The restaurant was easy to find with good signage and ample parking. It is more of a take-out place, but there are chairs and counters available if you prefer to eat in. The decor is a mix of hip hop and old school music nostalgia. I ordered a fried chicken dinner (only chicken wings were available) and found the chicken to be well-seasoned and fried. The sides included yams (okay), collard greens (very good and seasoned with turkey), and macaroni and cheese (just okay). The sweet tea was exceptional, not too sweet and very delicious. Unfortunately, I was too full to try the pound cake. Overall, I would return for the sides as I am not a fan of wings.

I have been searching for good soul food ever since I moved here from Atlanta, and this place is hands down the best!! I was a bit unsure about ordering with doordash at first, but the food arrived hot and fresh. Everything was incredibly delicious, especially the wings and macaroni and cheese. This will definitely be my go-to spot from now on!

No Shade All. This wasn?t for me. My family is from NC so what I expect from souls food may be different. Also I know when you cook for large groups things change a little. My Review: First time I cam here I walked in, the man yelled from behind thecounter ?We don?t have anything left? My Wife I walked right out and the person who was walking in with us walked out too.That was my first day in Meriden as a resident lol. ????Moving on to our recent visit. This place seems to get business so Iwanted to check it out. I didn?t enjoy the food. ??Soul food Rolls: The roll was a little more chewy than I would have liked.The Mac cheese wasn?t tasty to me. However the yams in there were excellent. You get two very large rolls which is a meal inand of itself. ?? Fish Dinner: 3 small prices of fish which was adequate size and two sides. My side were Mac cheese sweetpotato fries. Sweet potato fries were good, as you know I didn?t like the Mac cheese. I think it was suppose to be like a 3cheese blend. 2 pieces of the fish were over cooked however the third was perfect. I have no clue how that happened. The fishwas seasoned well, that?s a plus and the drink I had was great. I think it was a sweet tea. Here is the silver lining. My wifeliked the food and she had the same thing. She actually finished my soul food roll. ??????????? I?d say you have to try if foryourself. This was just my personal review.
