Gone were the unique dishes that whispered of culinary adventure, replaced instead by an all-too-familiar parade of burgers. The first misstep? The service. It stumbled, faltered, and fell into the chasm of snobbery that seemed to infect every corner of the establishment. My companion, Cassie, and I exchanged glances, our expectations dissolving quicker than the fizz in our untouched drinks which remained unordered due to the lack of service. Change isn 't always progress, it seems. As 'Bad Habits ' earnestly embraces its new identity, it sheds the charm and warmth that once drew us through its doors. We left in search of better memories, hopeful yet disenchanted. For now, our search for that spark of originality continues elsewhere, away from the pervasive snobbery that now lingers like stale air in a forgotten space.
I am continuously impressed with Billy and his team’s efforts at creating a community space that actually responds to community needs. Recently, with the ASL classes, Bad Habits has clearly demonstrated a commitment to showing up as more than just a venue to put dollars in, but a space where the notion of collective safety is honored and DEVELOPED. Most other bars, it seems, has a laissez faire attitude toward things like ableism, femmephobia, classism, and even outright eugenicist attitudes toward people with mental illness or disability. Billy is a bar owner who won’t let his customers, staff or the world outside dictate what he intends his space to be. I see that dedication, Billy. Keep it up. You got lots of people in your corner because you’re there for them.
As a human pup, i mainly only would be here during a pup mosh. The people who organized and run the pup moshes there are some of the coolest people i know and i show mainly for them. But the location is excellent! It's like our own little bar for us pups which in all honesty, we really don't have just for us. Sure there is trade but like, they cater to everyone but bad habits, on those nights, was like it was all about us and if we had a more regular spot im sure more would want to go. Sadly they cancelled pup moshes in the future. So as much as i loved this spot, i will sadly not be returning.
Was here for a short while to see some friends and was a nice place. Didn't eat or drink but overall, friendly staff and nice place.
Friendly staff, chill environment, and good bar food offered to go with drinks. There's also a good mocktail menu for those that aren't drinking alcohol.
