Was starved the first time, only 2 others in the restaurant, but it took an hour and a half for us to get our food after we ordered it. next time we went there we sat on the patio. They didn't give us any utensils when they brought our food and we had to wait 10 minutes to flag someone down. Food wasn't bad but the service could keep me from ever going back it was one of the worst experiences of my life in a restaurant. Twice now in 2 years they seemed to be waaaay understaffed. the server is horrific and the owner can be super rude.
Showed up just as they were closing, Julia not only stayed open but honored our Living Social coupon on a to-go order and the food was great! This isn 't authentic Mexican or Colorado Mexican (which are both great! , but New Mexican fresh with delicious red chili. Love the blue corn tortillas, the Tres Hermanas is a must try.
Unique, tasty food and yummy margaritas. The owner is great!
Julia Blackbird serves what is probably the best New Mexican food in Denver. Not Mexican, mind you New Mexican. Don 't expect your typical cheap and cheerful burritos and enchiladas here. The flavors are sophisticated and subtle. The service is always prompt, and the dining room is inviting. My only complaint is that the delicious posole is not a stand alone item on the menu.
Love the decor patio area! The restaurant overall looks like it has a lot of potential! However, the service was very slow waiter was clearly not trained. Baggy pants have to be a hazard for him, aside from the fact that it's unprofessional. And the food menu looks great but the flavor is non-existent or salty. We had high hopes from the appearance were definitely disappointed. Someone needs to let Food Network know they should send out the guy from Restaurant Impossible to help them get their game back. Definitely won't be returning unless they make some big improvements.
