I wanted to like this place more than I did. It had some great food and some not so great. The service and ambiance were also pretty lacking. To start off the menus being in plastic sheet covers doesn't really scream high end. They were put of the wine we ordered, which the server should have known when we ordered as there are only a few on the menu. My SIL ordered the chicken kebab and was told they would take at least 25min. This is fine, but that information should be included on the menu in case that. We ordered the baba ganoush with veggies, chicken kebab, 2 lamb tagine and chicken schwarma. The baba ganoush was very good, but only comes with 1 pita. There were 4 of us, so we ordered an extra and were brought 4 of them. The pita doesn't seem house made and is bland. The texture was pretty good though. The veggies were a small amount for $6 especially as it was regular radishes under the couple of slivers of watermelon radishes. We loved the lamb tagine. It was flavorful and cooked very well. I would order it again. The other chicken dishes were very good as well. The issue with the entrees was the amount of onion as it was served as a side dish. Also, the rice was wet, over cooked and very bland. It had no flavor at all. The service wasn't the best. Not very attentive and didn't provide any information about the food beyond what was on the menu when we had questions, so they went unanswered. The last issue we had was that it was very hot in the area of the restaurant where we sat. It was pretty uncomfortable so we ate quickly and left, so not a very relaxing experience. The other half of the restaurant in the back was much cooler. Overall the food is pretty good and I would try it again, but I would order take out and not eat there.
My daughter introduced me to this place. She knows that I really like Mediterranean food. The food was fantastic, atmosphere was great, and it is very reasonably priced. Highly recommend. It’s a little bit far from where I live, but I will definitely make the trip. It will be worth it, if history repeats itself.
Solid Mediterranean food in the Tennyson Street area. Stopped by here on a busy Saturday evening, got a nice table by the window. Mazevo has a very good selection of Mediterranean dishes, salads and sides. We shared a plate of Chicken Shwarma on hummus (perfectly seasoned), and Falafel with a nice yogurt mint sauce. Very tasty. Reasonable prices, comfortable atmosphere in the front half of the restaurant. The food quality made up for the inattentive service.
My friend suggested this be our meeting spot two weeks ago and I already want to go back! The food was very delicious and the restaurant was very pretty. I really enjoyed eating here. The service got pretty busy around prime dinner time though, so I wasn’t able to order more food or ask for more water. But overall, I would highly suggest this place to anyone in the area.
