We ordered take out. It was mostly well packaged except one of the hot sauce/salsa lids wasn't all the way on and I opened it while on the couch. (Bummer) There wasn't much meat in the chicken tacos, but the ground beef had a more than fair portion. The side of rice and beans was skimpy but the extra side of jalepenos was large. We have eaten dine in here before and the food was SO good. Of course, deep frying a taco will be better when it's piping hot. The guacamole was fresh and tasty and the salsa was very tasty also. I don't know if they purchase that red hot sauce that comes with the tacos somewhere or make it in house, but it's like crack. Parking is no Bueno on the weekend, better luck on weekdays.
Great local spot, with local ownership for generations. Fried steak (fresh avocado slice is heaven, squeeze bottle of salsa makes every bite perfect) tacos, breakfast burritos are my favorites. They employ locals needing work, hustle as best as possible, especially when people are hangry. Perfection isn’t ALWAYS fast (although usually fast), but it’s always delicious. I can’t say enough good things about this joint and I’ve been coming here for decades now. I’ve got our families next generation just as addicted to Mexico City as I have been for so long! Oh, and obviously…Some of my favorite green chili in town! Thanks for always filling our stomachs and hearts! Kid-friendliness: While it has a local dive bar feel, lunch/brunch/breakfast is always a welcoming atmosphere for kiddos. Kids meals or a la cart tacos is a safe bet to keep a smile on their faces.
A group of us were in Denver for a concert. A friend suggested trying this place. It was all good until one of our friends almost died while we were there. It was one of the scariest moments of all of our lives but all the staff was worried about was us paying our bill. It didn’t matter that our friend lost her color and had no pulse. They treated us extremely bad and we even heard them say get them their bill and get them out of here. Where’s the humanity here.? She ended up being ok. We paid our bill and left. The food we got to eat while there was very good but all of us were highly disappointed in the way we were treated.
Absolutely disgusting. These isn't even Mexican. It was burnt plastic tasting shells with raw meat. And when the queso at Chipotle and Qdoba is better, you know it is a warning sign. Don't waste your money here. I know Mexican food and this isn't it.Oh, and take note patrons...if you write a negative review, the owner, Candice Pineda, will continuously harass you and attack you. Good thing I am in PR.
