I chose this restaurant because the prices listed on their website (coronavillagemex.com) seemed reasonable, like the Chico (one item) priced at $7.50, which I confirmed on December 2, 2023. However, when I arrived, the printed menu showed the Chico was actually $9.95—a 33% increase! I noticed several other items that didn't match either. It felt like a bait and switch. Please update your online menu! I ended up paying more than I expected. On a positive note, the food was good and the service was excellent.
Stopped by here for a late dinner on a recommendation. We were the only diners, so parking was plentiful. The ambiance and decorations made me home sick as it reminded me of the Mexican restaurants in Old Town of San Diego, CA. This was the only tip off I needed to know that the food was going to be legit. The service was quick and friendly! There's complimentary tortilla chips with frijoles and salsa. We ordered a burrito (forgot the name) and carne asada nachos both of which were from their specials menu. Both dishes tasted delicious! I especially liked the carne asada as it was actually well seasoned, wasn't dry, and had a nice smoker flavor. The portions are huge likely enough for two people to share. There was also a complimentary dessert of two pieces of sopapillas (deep fried flour, syrup, and whip cream), so that was a pleasant surprise! Definitely recommend this if you're in the area!
Best carne asada in the valley! Charred to perfection every time, moist and addictive. The speedy platter is so wonderful but beware, it's a lot of food! I love the bacon wrapped prawns and homemade salsa. The service is always great and friendly. You must eat here!!
The service is great and the owner is the BEST! The chicken taquitos are so dang good!!
Disappointing. The food here is really quite mediocre and insults the reputation of Mexican cuisine. Wife ordered the Chicken a la Crema and the sauce was so out of balance (very acidic) that she couldn't eat it. So she settled for the queso dip which had chopped jalapenos in it and was tasty. The Pollo Costa Blanca was poor quality. Boiled chunks of chicken, vegetables al dente (carrots, mushrooms, green peppers, celery, onion) and the thick creamy sauce was somewhat tasty with absolutely no spice or heat despite being labeled a jalapeno sauce. The pinto beans in broth were OK but nothing to delight the palate. Rice was bland. This is Mexican American cuisine at best. Value here is poor; menu items are pricey for what is served up. Soft drinks are $3.50 (exploitive) which makes me think that the business is not being run very efficiently. Since they knew that we were not totally satisfied they brought out a complimentary dessert, two chips with strawberry sauce and a dollop of whipped cream, which was equally unimpressive. From reviews I have read this place has been around over 20 years. They seem to be stuck in a 50 year time warp. Service was average.
