Mom Pop Coffee Shop - Merrifield

If you’re here for the breakfast sandwich or coffee, definitely a great spot. If you’re here for a tea or tea latte, go somewhere else. Baristas forgot my chai order and went on break, then served me a chai latte that was just iced milk with cinnamon powder. I’m never trusting them for a chai latte again, but I’ll definitely go back for their breakfast sandwich.

Ok little coffee shop. Good location in center of Mosaic District. A bit expensive, but nice outdoor seating. Worth a stop if you want a coffee break while shopping.Food: 3/5

Most importantly: this place serves ice cream/soft serve, and not just in pints! I was searching for that info in reviews before coming and couldn’t figure it out. Special shout out to the SUPER friendly employee and manager working Saturday afternoon (around 1) that I confused terribly by ordering two different things from two different people lol and they were so funny and cool about it. It’s been a while (sadly) since I’ve been somewhere where (1) the employees look like they’re having fun, (2) the employees seem to actually LIKE customers, as opposed to viewing them as a tragic inconvenience.Also, wasn’t overly crowded for a Saturday. Will def be coming back to try other menu items (and will do my best not to confuse anyone with my order when I do) ?

Interestingly if you order a large latte, it only comes with more milk, not more coffee. So you end up with a very large cup of milk. A venti iced latte at Starbucks gets 3 shots, I guess mom and pop is a little thrifty in this area, because I’m not so sure this one even had two. Would not recommend if you like your latte to taste like coffee.
