Big Apple Plate - Merrillville

I drive by this place every day and finally decided to give it a try today. The food is absolutely fantastic! I ordered a plate that included steak, shrimp, chicken, and falafel, and I finished every last bite. Don't overlook this hidden gem!

I ordered the Casteletta, while my husband opted for the lamb kabob. Both dishes came with the most delightful yellow rice/pilaf on this side of Gary/Merrillville, along with pita bread nicely arranged on top of sliced tomatoes and chopped lettuce. Now, I have to take a moment to talk about the pita bread. It was incredibly fluffy and perfectly warmed, with a subtle flavor that was enhanced by the juices from the meat in my dish. Truly, it’s the best pita bread I’ve ever tasted! The meal also included a creamy sauce that you could drizzle over everything — it was out of this world! If you’re after juicy, tender meat, flavorful rice pilaf, and incredible pita bread, you won’t be disappointed. I take great pleasure in giving a glowing review of a restaurant, especially when they check all the boxes in terms of appearance, aroma, and taste. I will definitely return, and I plan to bring my son so he can experience this wonderful food too! Customer service was top-notch, earning 5 stars. The cleanliness of the dining area deserves a solid 4.5. I won’t score the ambiance since, thanks to COVID, many newer establishments haven’t had the chance to perfectly set up their dining spaces, and older restaurants have had to adjust their layouts for social distancing. While you can dine inside at Big Apple, we chose to get takeout because I had deliveries to make. Overall, I rate my experience 5 stars and highly encourage everyone to check out Big Apple Plate. You won’t regret it!

Jehad, Mohammed, and Summer consistently provide exceptional service to their customers. The food is fantastic and the service is top-notch. The Angus burger is one of the best I've ever had, and when Jehad prepares it, it's even more delicious. I give it a perfect 5/5!

This was so Mf Good. lol they just need to start seasoning the meat a lil better. i got like a cali bowl or some like this with shrimp. it’s was definitely enough food, worth the 20 i paid for it. i’d recommend this place

The chicken and shrimp protein plates are awesome! I recommend getting a order of feta cheese with it, too.
