Being from Chicago, the pizza capital of the world, I am a pizza snob. That said, the pizza at the Old Schoolhouse is among the best I've ever had. Super thin, crispy crust, generous toppings, sweet tangy sauce, ample cheese. And the homeland soup is incredibly fresh, hearty and flavorful! And the salad bar offers an extraordinary variety of fresh veggies--enough to build a world-class salad! And the atmosphere of this place is just plain gorgeous. A warm inviting decor that makes even a wayward traveler like me feel at home.
We have done a few events at the Old Schoolhouse and they went great. They have a wonderful staff that will help make any event superb! We can't wait to go back again!
This place is pretty rough. Limited beer selection. Good and bad that they kept a lot of the old infrastructure. (Some of it is nice and nostalgic, some of it is pretty grungy and ugly. . Only serve deep dish pizza, which is ok, but pretty undifferentiated. Service is nice but food comes out very slow. I would probably pass on the new Old School House.
Over all, this was a nice cozy place to have our small January wedding. We had 1 couple stand up and about 60 guests and it fit well in the little chapel. The history of the building is amazing and it has so much character!
