Merritt (my) Island Pancake House

We were enjoying a fantastic vacation when we came across a review of this restaurant that made us chuckle, so we decided to check it out. It turned out to be one of the best decisions we made during our trip! The service was outstanding, and the food exceeded our expectations. The pancakes were massive, with an impressive variety of toppings. However, the chicken and waffles were the highlight of our meal. We loved it so much that on the following day—those dreaded last-day-of-vacation blues—we went a little out of our way to return, and everything was just as amazing as our first visit.

The restaurant has a pleasant and clean atmosphere, and the staff is exceptionally friendly and attentive. My husband and I both opted for the breakfast that features pancakes, eggs, bacon, and hash browns. While the eggs, bacon, and hash browns were perfectly fine, the pancakes were incredibly thick—almost unappetizing. Each pancake was at least two inches in thickness, resembling a double-layered cake! They really should put a warning on the menu about that. If I had known how massive they would be, I definitely wouldn’t have chosen the pancakes.

I visited this restaurant for the first time, and I was incredibly impressed by how warm and welcoming everyone was! I felt like a regular because of the way I was treated. The service was outstanding; my dog received a water bowl at the same time I got my drinks, and those little touches make all the difference. One of the staff members even came over to apologize for the wait on our gluten-free pancakes, which I thought was very considerate (we totally understood and weren’t upset at all). I live an hour to the north, but I will definitely be making the trip down again for the amazing food. The cinnamon roll pancakes are absolutely a must-try—they’re so delicious that you’ll want to lick the plate! Thank you all!

Best Breakfast ever. Absolutely amazing food wish great service. Pancakes were a dream as well as the potato puffs. Highly recommend!!!
