Dishes should Come out as per expected order- Mutton roll first and it’s more a starter Then the dosai. Ideally the mutton fry should come out at the same time as the dosai. Plain Dosai- not crispy. Accompaniment dosai very average- vegetable curry, Dahl and coconut sambal all average . Mutton roll too much potatoes- two pieces of mutton should really call it potato roll. Mutton dry dish- taste average. Large amount of garlic and onions in dish. Good value as dosai with three accompaniment is £3.95 and the mutton dry- although seems like a large proton- mostly onions and garlic at 5.95. Rasam is £1.95 and two pieces of mutton roll is £1.50. Total for all of that was under £14. Overall good value although Jaffna House further up toward Tooting Broadway tubestop taste better.
I recently had my first taste of Sri Lankan cuisine at this restaurant. A customer at a nearby table had just started eating a dish called 'Lamprise' and it looked delicious, so we decided to order two of them. Each plate was filled with saffron-colored rice, a slice of lime, various small portions of curries, mutton, chicken, aubergine, sambal, fried fish, a chicken leg, a whole egg, and a stuffed vegetable ball. One of the curries was very spicy, but a cold Seven Up helped cool the heat. Every dish was delicious, and I couldn't leave a single grain of rice on my plate. Some local customers came in to pick up takeout while we were there, which is always a good sign. The restaurant was clean, the tables were spaced out for social distancing, and the service was quiet yet efficient with a friendly smile. Overall, we felt comfortable and we look forward to coming back again.
We ordered takeout from a Sri Lankan restaurant and found the dishes to be freshly made and more than enough for us to enjoy over 2-3 days. The food held up well in the fridge and reheated nicely. The mutton rolls were flavorful with a good amount of filling, and tasted great after being warmed in the microwave and then grilled for crispiness. The Sri Lankan mutton curry was very spicy but delicious. The egg kottu roti was outstanding and stayed fresh in the fridge for 5 days, reheating well in the microwave. The mutton kottu roti was one of the best I've had in the UK. The Sri Lankan eggplant curry was excellent, but because of its oily nature, it's best enjoyed in moderation.
Had great take out for.there. Was very delicious. Portions are big and it's a great value for money. After ordering I picked up my food in 10minutes and it was tasty and pumping hot
Used to visit here regularly for the various rolls (mutton, fish and egg). Not sure if management has changed but on a number of occasions now there is no mutton in the mutton roll and the shell was still on the egg in the fish and egg rolls! Clear drop in quality of food evident. Sad to see this change. Will no longer be visiting here. Disappointed customer
