Angry Crab Shack - Mesa

The raw oysters were served just as they should be—fresh and cold. Their Atomic brand extra hot horseradish is, without a doubt, the best I’ve ever had. My waiter, Nathan, was incredibly accommodating and happily brought me more when I asked for it. Unfortunately, I was disappointed with the shrimp and oyster Po'boy; the bread was burnt and the shellfish was overcooked to the point where the oysters tasted old and overly fishy. They should have been plump and juicy with a light, crispy coating, but instead, they were hard and inedible. On a brighter note, the beer was perfect, with a nice soft head and ideal temperature for a black stout. I will give them another chance, as Nathan made the experience enjoyable and did an excellent job.

I wasn't particularly impressed during my first visit, but I decided to give it another try, and it turned out to be much better. I ordered the head-off shrimp with a spicy hot sauce, and it was delicious. The sides were also quite good. The only downside was the drinks; I ordered a michelada, but it didn't taste great. I would definitely return for the food, atmosphere, and service, but I think I'll skip the drinks next time.

Overall, it was a fun first experience! Being a Friday night, the atmosphere was loud and lively, but very festive. The fish and chips were delicious; however, I was a bit disappointed that the waiter didn't offer beans, coleslaw, or potato salad with my order, which I had seen in other reviews. The Boston clam chowder was incredibly tasty! We requested separate checks, but the waiter initially brought out just one. He apologized and then returned with two, but they weren't split correctly—though we managed to sort it out with our family. We also noticed that drink refills weren't offered; we had to flag down the waiter for those. I wish reservations were an option, as we had to wait about 30 minutes, and there weren't enough chairs in the waiting area. We love seafood and plan to visit again!

If I lived closer, I'd be in there every day. People, the food, everything was top notch

Jess was Amazing, this was my first time, she recommended the jambalaya and it was beyond great. The atmosphere was great
