This is not your typical Tex-Mex, it really is Tex Mex from the Mexican side of the border. Most of the customers are for Mexico, the salsas are nice and spicy, and the food is very homestyle with large portion sizes. If you get a drink don't expect the server to offer you a refill unless you buy coffee. For some reason they're very good about refilling your coffee cup, but nothing else unless you try to stop the person and asking for a refill. Very casual place, most the customers know the routine and find their own table. All of the standard Mexican items are good, as are the omelets. For those who don't eat Mexican food there is chicken fried steak, hamburgers, and usually one or two other items of the day that are very American.
After deciding not to wait in line for 70 minutes at a nearby over-rated, over hyped chain restaurant for breakfast, we drove literally around the corner and found this hidden gem! Awesome food, great service. The radio from the kitchen could have been a little quieter, but if that was the only thing wrong here, this place will be my go to for breakfast when I'm in the area over the nearby Cracker Barrel.Vegetarian options: Veggie omelet is the bomb!
We did not have a good experience here. The waitress was very blatantly rude to us. We have no idea why, but she even rolled her eyes at one point... she was clearly not happy to be serving us for some reason. We asked for a few minutes to figure out what we wanted, and then she didn 't return for quite a while. We tried to get her attention that we were ready to order... she saw us and gave a head nod like she 'll get to us, but she continued standing behind the counter, talking for several minutes before actually coming over to take our order. Both my daughters order and mine were incorrect (sides forgotten and wrong items brought out), and we each found a hair on our plate partway through the meal. We told the waitress, but she literally shrugged her shoulders like so what ? Our family will not be back there and can not recommend it. We 've been there before and had a decent experience, but this has totally ruined it for us.
The food was awful.. My pancakes were burnt and so were the kids. The hash browns were really soggy and not seasoned. The coffee was awful and also tasted burnt. The only good thing was the salsa they had. The service was also exceptional! They restaurant was cute and had plenty of spaceFood: 1/5
