I ordered a 12oz filet cooked medium, which was flavorful and well-seasoned, although it was a bit more well-done than I anticipated. While I wasn't blown away, I wasn't disappointed either. The highlight of my evening was the cheesecake; it was likely the best I've had in Louisiana. I wasn't a fan of the complimentary starter bread, as it was quite plain, but since it was free, I can't complain too much. Overall, I would recommend this place for dinner.
We started with the smoked salmon appetizer, which was the highlight of the evening, along with the tea. Honestly, I doubt the salmon was made in-house, so I can't give any credit there. The charcuterie board was a bit confusing and inconsistent. We had veal, which was a fried cutlet, and the crab was decent, but the roasted potatoes were disappointing—they desperately needed some salt. The maple pork chop was cooked perfectly, but overall, the dish fell flat. The rice and yams had no redeeming qualities, and I asked to swap my dirty rice for garlic potatoes. Our wonderful server had to return to the kitchen to relay my request, as they initially didn’t accommodate it. Unfortunately, the garlic potatoes didn’t impress either. I mention the total of $119 because it adds to my disappointment; it wasn’t the price that bothered me, but the lackluster food that came with that bill. On a positive note, the service was exceptional. The young women at the entrance were warm and welcoming, and our server was fantastic—he truly went above and beyond to enhance our experience. My young child particularly enjoyed it, which helped brighten the night. I don't want anyone to think we hated the place; we didn't. There were just several items that didn’t hit the mark, even the bread served at the table was underwhelming. The staff was definitely the highlight of our visit, but it wasn’t enough to make us want to return. I can overlook mediocre food for great service, but sadly, even with stellar staff, the food didn't measure up during our visit.
This was our first visit, and we traveled from the West Bank to try this restaurant. Everything was incredible! It was definitely worth the trip. The food and service were outstanding.
One of the best if not the best in the New Orleans area. The food is world class, the atmosphere is classic and the impeccable service is the icing on the cake. They treat you like family and not the way you want to go. Make sure you request Eric Weinmunson as a waiter. He's the best in business. He treated us like a royal treatment.
My husband took me here for my birthday. It was our first visit. The service was great! Everyone was very friendly and attentive. The food was absolutely delicious. I ordered the filet and lobster with a side of a twice baked potato. The steak and lobster were cooked to perfection. It's a bit pricey, but in my opinion I think it's worth it, knowing how good the food is. We will definitely be visiting again.
