High end dining with exceptional french cuisine. Also features accommodations with views and sunsets on the majestic, St. Lawrence River in a quiet Quebecois village
After sitting down for dinner, we were given the menu which only included the Table d'hôte for the price of $51.95. I was a bit surprised by the price as the choice was OK but not that great. Anyhow, we decided to stay and I took the table d'hôte while my friend who suffers from the Crone disorder asked if she could only take two small entrees and a green salad. The waitress agreed. We each had a glass of wine. My meal was OK. The service was nice enough. But it was very overpriced. With the taxes and the tip, I paid $80 for my meal and they charged exactly the same price to my friend who only had taken two small entrees and a green salad with a glass of wine. I did not realize this as I was not at the counter when she paid but had I seen it, I would have protested. Therefore, I was disappointed with this place. Thank God, there was a nice sunset and the view was great. Theo, one of the two sons of the owner, was also quite pleasant and gave us a good service, except for the bill at the end of the meal for my friend :-(
Such a good meal. A beautiful spot, lovely proprietors. What you hope you will find on Gaspe. And then we did. Prix fixe, 4 courses. Wife and I ordered differently to taste more. Everything we had was good.
Every summer we visit at least twice and always are served a delicious meal. Service sometimes idiosyncratic but adds to the charm and uniqueness of a gem that one would never expect in this neck of the woods!
