However, the Hawaiian pizza we received was disappointing; it had large chunks of pineapple and what seemed like pre-chewed ham topped with cheddar cheese—definitely not traditional for pizza. The use of cheddar was surprising and quite confusing. The crust was rock hard, almost as if it had been frozen, cooked, then chilled and reheated. Additionally, some parts of the crust were soggy and undercooked. It was quite unappetizing. We also ordered mozzarella sticks, which were only lukewarm (considering we live less than half a mile away) and not well-breaded. We ended up throwing away the rest of the pizza out of genuine concern about indigestion. I rated it a two instead of a one because they did deliver during Covid and in a rainstorm. The bottle of Sprite we ordered was exactly what we expected, so there was at least that.
I called late at night for some pizza and was pleasantly surprised when an incredibly kind elderly gentleman answered the phone and took my order. I decided on a large four-cheese pizza, which cost $18. When I arrived to pick up my order, he generously gifted me two free drinks! I was so impressed with the quick and friendly service that I left him a $25 tip. When I opened the pizza box, I was greeted by the cheesy goodness this man had prepared for me, and I couldn't wait to share it with you! It looked amazing, and trust me, it tasted just as great.
I was charged $38.00 for an Uber Eats order from this restaurant, only to discover that they are no longer open. Uber Eats informed me that this issue is between me and Pizza Universe.
