Booked this “Sushi” restaurant through Open Table App. When we arrived we were treated as no reservation ever existed, and we were told that if we were there to dine we would have to sit outside because they had a live cuban music show starting soon inside. The outside area comprise of 4 metal garden tables, with metal benches, on the sidewalk on a street located in the worst part of Coconut Grove. The table offered to us which was not even clean or set up was a round table not larger than 30 inches in diameter with an umbrella pole going right through the middle, definitely not big enough to hold 2 dinner plates. This place is a joke and should be removed from Open Table. The sushi we saw looked nothing like the pictures on the website. Obviously the sushi used for the pictures was prepared and purchased somewhere else. For true real pictures of this ‘establishment” please look at the interior pictures on Yelp . The photos of the place are much more accurate there. Same fake Sushi photos thou.. For your own sake, select a real restaurant somewhere else.
The food here is truly a work of art. Be prepared to be mind blown by how good everything tastes. Type of food you'll crave once a week!
We heard about this restaurant on Groupon. We walked in to a nice surprise. Beautiful and cozy place, with live music. The food was beautifully presented and delicious. Staff very courteous and friendly. Our waiter recommended the seafood avocado as an appetizer, and we had the volcano and the soul train rolls. We will definitely be back, and recommend this restaurant to everyone.
We were staying in the commercial area of Coconut Grove and were looking for sushi. There were options closer, but the reviews on Garin Art Sushi sounded intriguing! I'm so, so glad we tried it. It was every bit as good as we hoped for, and then some. The fusion sushi adds terrific twists to traditional Maki. We had the Tostones Rellenos appetizer and the Dogy and Vitral specials... plus a roll not on the menu that the chef suggested for us. Not only did they all dazzle our tastebuds, but they were gorgeous as well. And the service was as good as the food! My only warning... we decided to walk from the center of Coconut Grove because Google Maps said it was a 23 minute walk, and we were okay with that. It's not a nice walk! I suggest grabbing an Uber or cab. But please don't let that stop you from going.
I hate to leave a bad review where I visit, but this place really deserves it, I agree with other comments if I could give a zero I would.Food took extremely long to make so long that even if it’s good that when it comes to your table you don’t even want it. When you go to a restaurant is because you are hungry I don’t expect my food to be ready in 10min but for sure not 35min just for 6 pieces of sushi that is raw fish?. Plus they sell themselves as an expensive restaurant but don’t play the part.I have never seen a restaurant that charges you for water. worst than that the utensils they used are plastic something extremely uncomfortable and they don’t even throw them away instead they reused.Tip is 18% way to high, is already imposed in the order…and you don’t have an option for less??All I can say is the worst place I have been in 23 years not because of the food but of the scam.
