Joes Grill - Michigan City

This is now Joe and Freddy's Gourmet Bar Grill. Don't let any old reviews throw you off. Apparently it's under new ownership and everything was revamped. First, it is SMOKE FREE which is awesome. I love a good diver bar vibe, but most are too smoky to go to. Second, the food is excellent. A group from work came for a holiday lunch. We started with the crab stuffed mushrooms which were amazing. I had the Korean vegan rice bowl. Also excellent! I wrapped my meal up with the apple bread pudding. So good! Staff was super friendly and they have several specials of the day that were highlighted. I will definitely be back. This place is worth a stop!

Recommended by a local and it was great! Kelly was very nice and helpful. Cocktails were good. The fresh blueberry syrup made a great drink. We had the chili, brussel sprouts, roasted beet salad, burgers, and BLT.

Always 10/10! Been my fave place since first time there! Kelly and Anton are the best bartenders/servers!!!

How lucky are we to have this place right in our backyard! We went tonight and I had am amazing salmon with curry/caper/lemon sauce over mashed potatoes and fresh spinach. My husband loved his pulled bbq pork, a special on Tuesdays when they've got the smoker going. This is not your average bar-food spot! Terrific tavern-style pizza as well. Friendly, fast service and a fun casual atmosphere. Highly recommend.

On our way we decided to stop and see in the sign was true about their gourmet food. The food is delicious. The atmosphere is wonderful. The service was fast and friendly. We had a chef salad and Korean shrimp rice and everything was on point. We also had turkey and rice soup. It was homemade and delicious. We will be coming back.
