Pita Express - Michigan City

The Italian Beef is absolutely delicious, and the gyros are fantastic! I'm really impressed with both their food and customer service. I can't wait to try the falafel and chicken shawarma next! This has become my new favorite spot for Middle Eastern cuisine!

This is a wonderful family-owned restaurant offering truly outstanding gyro, falafel, dolmas, and shawarma. The service is quick and friendly, and they've recently reopened their dining area for indoor dining. Also, don't miss out on their delicious homemade desserts. In my opinion, this is the best place for Mediterranean food in northern Indiana.

The interior is lackluster as well, featuring no menus and no photos. There are just two handwritten lists in very small print with misleading descriptions. The staff member at the counter offered no greeting or welcoming gesture, making it feel like our business was neither valued nor appreciated—almost like an inconvenience. When I inquired about a menu item, the staff member admitted she didn't know how they prepare the food. Perhaps that's why the place is often empty! It seems like they're driving away potential customers. I suggest you do your research on Google or know exactly what you want to order before visiting, because you won't receive any assistance with the menu. Don't expect a warm welcome either. It's unfortunate that this restaurant misrepresents Lebanese culture and cuisine. I hope the owner sees this feedback and decides to make improvements, but until then, my rating will remain very low.

My son, my girlfriend and myself were at Pita Express today and we're extremely disappointed with the service. We were denied the opportunity to actually sit down and eat. When we inquired as to why, we were rudely ejected from the restaurant. On top of that, the bread from the sandwiches we had was extremely hard and moldy. Needless to say, we will not be back again.
