A refreshing place to go in a dying town. Really well put together and run. A very popular place to go and different for this town.
The staff at this restaurant were delightful, and the drinks were beautifully presented in lovely glasses. However, I was disappointed with the food. My salad was overly saturated with dressing, making it soggy, and some of the promised ingredients were missing. Additionally, the bagel was supposed to have pastrami but instead had parma ham, which may not bother everyone but it was a surprise. The chips included unpleasant black scraps from the fryer and were excessively salted. Despite the higher prices (e.g. £15 for a burger and chips), the quality did not match up to the cost. In comparison, a meal at Wetherspoons would have been more satisfying for half the price. This establishment may be better suited for drinks rather than food.
The burgers are incredible and they have a fantastic selection of IPAs. There's sports on the TV in one area, but the atmosphere still feels welcoming for families. Don't miss out on the triple cooked chips when you visit!
We had a pleasant experience at this restaurant for a drink in the evening. However, we were concerned about the lack of social distancing among some of the patrons. We understand the challenges of enforcing rules with drinkers, but we observed individuals moving around without masks, interacting with other tables, and embracing each other. We did not notice any staff members reminding them of the guidelines in place. Given the current pandemic and its impact on respiratory health, we believe vaping should not be permitted in the bar area. It would be valuable to hear from the management on these issues.
