Unfortunately, both times the flavor was mediocre and not as spicy as I would have liked, despite requesting the highest spice level (Thai hot) and adding extra spice powder. Overall, it was just okay, nothing exceptional.
I decided to order takeout on a Friday night since my usual Thai restaurant was closed. The food was ready in 20 minutes as promised and the staff was friendly. Surprisingly, the restaurant wasn't very busy for a Friday night and there was ample parking available on Main Street. I ordered drunken noodles and drunken rice. The noodles were less saucy and sweeter than I'm used to at other Thai restaurants. They were also thin and long, unlike the flat wide noodles I prefer for drunken noodles. This unique noodle shape was a disappointment as drunken noodles typically taste better with wider noodles. The drunken rice was just okay. Overall, this place didn't excite my taste buds.
I deleted my previous post because my experience was TERRIBLE! The takeout was revolting and the staff were unfriendly and unhelpful. They forgot to include utensils as we requested. The fish had a weird taste and my stomach was upset soon after eating it. The dumplings also had a strange smell. The Crab Rangoons did not taste appetizing at all. To top it off, the massaman curry had pork in it even though we specifically asked for tofu, as I am a vegetarian. This was the worst Thai food I have ever had.
Glad we stumbled upon Typhoon when we looked up Thai Food in a few towns along our route. Delicious food and quite the selection! We enjoyed the varied cuisine and laughed that we had Vietnamese appetizer rolls), Indian Massaman Curry), Thai Drunken Noodles), and Taiwanese bubble tea) all at the same meal. We were there at an off time 3:30pm) but staff was attentive and courteous. The only problem was that half our tapioca boba bubbles) were as hard as rocks : .
Really enjoyed the pad see ew, and all the appetizers. Typhoon has a good selection of flavors, but milder (less chillies and fish sauce) than one gets in West Coast Thai restaurants. I wish they had the caddy of condiments you usually find on Thai tables. However, on our requesting it, we did get little plastic containers of chilli oil and chilli powder. No Nam Som Prik Dong though those delicious chillies in vinegar.
