The French Confection - Middletown

Karen and Xavier, the husband-and-wife duo, make a fantastic team. Xavier is originally from France and brings his authentic recipes to this café. Situated in a vibrant area of Washington, DC, I was thrilled to see them expand into a larger space after their many years of success. At The French Connection, you can savor genuine French flavors in a warm and inviting atmosphere. I highly recommend trying any of their delicious coffees, and don't miss out on the chocolate croissant. They offer a wonderful variety of breads and desserts, so indulge a little while you're there. Be sure to say hi to Karen and Xavier—they really make you feel at home with their friendly hospitality. Additionally, they're actively involved in the local community and participate in events related to the nearby university and French culture in the area.

The food was absolutely incredible! We purchased a dozen macaroons one day, and the next day we shared a broccoli cheddar quiche, a tiramisu cup, and a ham and Swiss croissant. Everything was delightful!

The atmosphere is fantastic, and the staff is friendly and attentive. As soon as you walk in, you're greeted by the delightful aroma of freshly baked pastries. The team is welcoming and patient. The food is incredible, and the breakfast sandwich was particularly enjoyable. I would definitely become a regular here. I highly recommend dining in or getting takeout!

We stopped yesterday and were greeted by a man and a woman who were extremely helpful. We bought a series of joys that were all heavenly. We were at a small group in a restaurant to celebrate a birthday. Instead of a full cake I bought a mixture of tarts and individual large cake pieces. You were an absolute hit! Jesus!

Incredible food, life changing sweets. Fabulous customer service, some of the kindest people I've met in the service industry... not to mention the vibe, with French books and cute seating. This place is 100% the real deal. I won't buy cakes anywhere else.
