Golden Bell - Midlothian

This restaurant used to be great, but something has changed and I won't be coming back. It's a shame because the delivery service is terrible, although it's not the delivery guys' fault. The restaurant seems to be using cheap ingredients and I won't be ordering from them again, unfortunately.

Order from here quite a lot but been noticing standards dipping a bit. Ordered the Spicy Garlic Chicken and it was inedible. You'd need teeth like jaws to get through it! You expect the odd chewy bit of meat as they try to offload the older stuff but this was every single one! Time to go elsewhere, luckily we're not short of Chinese takeaways in Penicuik!

So disappointed. Rarely get a takeaway these days and so annoyed I wasted my money on this. The satay vegetables is literally a ton of beansprouts, one half a mushroom in a generic tasteless sauce which is nothing like satay. Honestly you would be forgiven for thinking i git a sidexdish of beansprouts as a,mistake. Waste of money and you should be ashamed to let this go out to customers.

I recently dined at this restaurant a few days ago. The service and delivery were very fast, and the food arrived hot and of a decent quality. The sauces in the two dishes I ordered, special chow mein and house curry, had a strange consistency, but overall, I would rate the food a 7 out of 10.

I ordered takeout from this restaurant on Friday night because it's the only place that serves Thai curry. When I called, the lady informed me that they had stopped offering Thai food due to lack of demand. I was disappointed, but decided to order the house special curry instead. Just two minutes after hanging up, the same lady called me back to say that she had spoken to the chef and he would make me a Thai red curry! I was thrilled and may have screamed a little lol. This unexpected act of excellent customer service has convinced me to continue ordering Chinese food from this restaurant, even though I know the Thai curry was a one-time thing. She's a star!
