Justinlees Inn - Midlothian

Visited the Justinlees Inn last night for a catch up with a friend and it was lovely. Service was quick and efficient and the food was exactly what you want from a pub. Will visit again.

Food was awful and had to clear the table to make room for kids desserts . Noticed other people having to clear tables before they could sit down . Staff however were lovely but due to minimal staff they just couldn’t do everything . Management need to have more staff on shift .

Had not been to the justinlees in a long time so thought I would give it a try again, the decor and ambience in the pub are very good and the servers that served us our meal are very polite, sadly that's where it stops the food is mediocre and the service is very slow, there were plenty of tables when we went so the pub was nowhere near full capacity yet it took ages for a sharing nacho platter to come out and the same for our main and dessert, my chicken was dry and the peas that were served were straight out a can withought being warmed at all. The sauce that was on the nachos didn't have much consistency at all and the nachos seemed not very fresh. The one part of the meal that was good was there apple pie, perhaps this is bought in and heated. I would certainly not class this food as good value and most people could prepare just as good at home or probably better.

Good food, lovely service. We came for some lunch and had 1 chicken ciabatta and 1 steak ciabatta. Both really tasty, steak cooked to our liking. We will be back

I Apparantly ordered the recommended burger according to the menu, I would hate to see the others. When I handed it back asking for my refund I was told I was rude. Some of the staff are really nice but over the past year or so the pubs service has deteriorated. Shame as it used to be good.
