Friendly service, owners are usually present. Charcoal grill operates during Lunch period. Ask for Carlos younger owner.
We had a burger and a steak. They were both great. The place opened in a different location about 50 years ago. When Dad died, he left it to his children. And what did they change when they took it over? NOTHING and tat's the beauty of it. Hand made burgers just like when burger joints were small family businesses. Wonderful steak as well. You will never meet anybody nicer than the owners. Full bar. Free salad bar.
Man, this place was PACKED at lunchtime! The burgers were all great (there were 3 of us). Our table was tiny and tucked uncomfortably in a corner, so I deduct one star for not being able to really fully enjoy the experience. I'd still go back...
This restaurant was a small hamburger joint when I attended college in Mexico City in the 1960 's. I was so excited to see it in a new location when we visited this year. Their claim to fame is 50 types of hamburgers and now they have steaks too. It has a pub-like atmosphere and is located fairly close to the new Sumaya Museum and adjacent to a very upscale shopping mall. It is now run by the sons of the original owner and we had a lovely chat about the old days . The burgers were good, as were the fries, and they have a full bar.
We ate at Embers for a late lunch in March. We both had burgers with fries the food was great. The staff were very friendly quick to serve clean up. We would definitely eat here again when visiting Mexico City. Also, across the street is a very nice shopping mall so you can burn off the calories from your meal.
