Feedback gevenI booked a reservation at 8:00 the 1rst dish arrived in 40 mn and. every entree took 25-30 mn. and this was a 7 time course dinner .It is 10 already and I am still here bored an hungry Af. the food is not that good and I want to go and have a real dinner but i have to wait because i am with my girlfriend she don’t want to leave. 2 more an we are done .
My wife and I did the taco omikase. Service was incredible. I eat left handed so after first course was served, the server noted that and placed each additional course on the left side of the setting to make it easier for me. Never had that happen before. You get your choice of beverage, I chose the mezcal. Had 4 or 5 different types served during the meal. You can also get wine or beer. Food was inventive. We loved some of the dishes, not so much for some others. They take 12 people at 6:30 and 8:30 seatings. I think that it was a great experience, enjoyed it but would try the restaurant's regular menu. Only disappointment was I wrote on the reservation that it was my wife's birthday and this was not acknowledged.
A small restaurant by some standards, the wait staff was extensive- over 14 for the 50+ seats. Our server was called Tanya and she was exceptional in every way: Professional but approachable. Her explanations were detailed and useful. The food at Pajul exceeded my expectations. I had a fish course that was the best single thing I have ever eaten., anywhere. I dreamed about it the next night. How could something so plain be so spectacular? And so it goes course after course, lightness of texture and breadth of tastes. (A butter cookie, the size of quarter, covered with something and topped with shaved nuts was so spectacular- it made me gasp out loud. If you are a non drinker the aguas are wonderful- mine was white grape carbonated. Who would have thought. Pajul endeavors to offer food that people can eat, so they vary menu for individuals who have allergies or food intolerant. Reservations are only available one month in advance and if you cannot find a seat on your evening of choice, you could consider calling to see if they can help.
