Black Swan Inn - Mill Bay

Reading the other reviews I note sone people would like to see a make over take place here. I reckon that is exactly the way to spoil it. There are plenty of 'make over ' bars on the Island, throughout Canada and all over the world....I have seen many lovely country pubs in Ireland where I come from totally ruined by 'make overs '. The Black Swan is quaint with a pleasant rustic charm and a friendliness from staff and customers that you won 't find in more glitzy places. It is one of the few pubs here that I have visited without having a menu shoved in front of me. It has a good selection of drink including over a dozen beer pumps. The Cobblestone stout is comparable to anything served in Ireland. If you want glitz and glamour, sure go elsewhere but if you like a pub to be a pub and a friendly welcome, this is the place for you. They do food too and although I did not eat there, it did look really good. Tax is included in the drink prices.

We visited the restaurant twice and the waitress remembered our previous visit, which was a nice touch. The food was delicious and reasonably priced. The service was excellent and accommodated my unique dietary preferences. I would recommend this restaurant to everyone!

One step above pub food. Service was a bit slow but then again we were the first in the door. Kitchen probably was not ready yet. Overall. Not a bad meal or time.

We are certainly NOT disappointed any time we enter the Black Swan Pub! It looks like a pub from days gone by and that 's a good thing! ; I would not be surprised if it 's location is used for one of the local movie shoots,...as you just don 't see country pubs anymore. The service is great and it sounds like these girls are all locals of the Valley, so they know what 's happening around the Valley, and are very helpful, friendly folk. The food is reallly good and the specials are always a treat. Very popular during the day on weekends too! You definitely won 't leave hungry, but the best part for myself and a few friends?....they have really good gluten free food! Sairuh in that kitchen has the knowledge regarding No Gluten! ....I hope they add even more gluten free as that 's hard to find elsewhere! Wether cold beer is your pleasure or you prefer something else the bartender does it right the first time, and always has a smile on his face. They have theme nights too ...Wether it 's a wing night , karaoke or Music Bingo (those are just the ones I can think of it 's a pretty popular place that the locals are happy to have. Personaly...We don 't get to go to the Black Swan as often as we would like, but it 's always a good time, good food, good drinks, good service,country style!

Being new to the area we dropped into this local watering hole. Great place. Excellent chicken wings with several flavours. Loved the atmosphere & decor, reminds us of an English style pub. Friendly & fast service by Tanya's. Will definately be back & highly recommend a visit
