Sixteen Mile House - Millbrae

Probably the WORST steakhouse experience I have ever had. The meat was tough and I doubt it was actually PRIME grade. Paying House of Prime RIb prices without any of the enjoyment. I have had better steaks more tender at chain restaurants than the prime rib here. This is in addition to the sour aftertaste to the Escargot and mushy vegetables reminiscent of frozen vegetable medley from the supermarket that was overcooked.Staff tries, but they are all very young and inexperienced. If you have been to either Harris' or HOPR, the service is night and day. We asked for a couple of bowls to share the cioppino but as we were finishing our meal the bowls still had not arrived and this dining room was not even full. Needless to say the ciopinno was cold by the time we bot the bowls and the bread/crouton was dissintigrating in the bowl.I will not come back! Not even to give it a second chance.

The whole experience was nice… except the food was mediocre. Most of us ordered the prime rib. It was tough and obviously not prime grade. Probably choice rib roast paraded as prime grade. It was so tough that my 9 year old, who loves steak, said it was too tough. The vegetables was the frozen cauliflower broccoli carrot mix you find at the supermarket, overcooked and mushy. The escargot was from a can. The $16 spinach salad had one hard boiled egg, two sliced mushrooms, and a tablespoon of weird tasting bacon. To top it off, there are no refills on the drinks.It’s sad when I can honestly say I’ve had better “prime rib” from a Carol’s Restaurant Diner at a 1/3 of the price.

Enjoyed a wonderful birthday dinner here last night! The food was lovely, steak cooked perfectly, atmosphere was romantic and unique. But above all the staff was SO lovely. Absolutely gracious, kind, and made me feel exceptionally special. I feel terrible I cannot recall the young gentleman’s name who took care of us but he was the best. Even staff who didn’t wait on us wished me a happy birthday. 10/10 would recommend and oyster rockafeller was chefs kiss. Thank you again!

Old style Restaurant. I went for a quick lunch and was not disappointed.

The Sixteen Mile House is our favorite place to eat! We always feel welcomed, the service is excellent, and the food is amazing!
