Kinda lame. Custard egg bao was small and a little dried up inside, rice rolls are decently good, and I enjoyed the taro dumplings the best despite the skin being torn when served.People are nice here, will be back only for taro dumplings.
We decided to try Yin Ji Chang Fun after being enticed by all the appetizing photos of rice noodle rolls. They make them using the traditional method of cloth, resulting in noodles of exceptional quality - thin, soft, and silky! We sampled three versions - oyster, beef and shrimp, and Chinese donut. Personally, my favorite was the beef and shrimp. The oyster and egg roll was intriguing but the brininess was a bit overwhelming. We also ordered some congee, which was rich and creamy. The sampan porridge was outstanding, with generous portions of roasted peanuts, shrimp, pork, and fish ensuring each bite was a delight. The raw egg beef porridge was also delicious, although overshadowed this time. For dim sum, we tried the shrimp dumplings which were decent but lacked flavor, with the skin being too thin. However, the lava custard buns were exceptional - possibly the best I've ever had! The lava yolk was plentiful and delightfully runny, striking the perfect balance between sweet and salty. When we arrived at noon on Saturday, there was no queue, but upon leaving, there was a small crowd forming outside the door, evidence of their popularity.
This is the best dim sum restaurant I have ever been to. The food is affordable compared to other places I have visited with my family. The service is excellent and the atmosphere is lively. I also got a taste of their delicious food while dining here.
Came here for lunch on a random Wednesday at 1pm. The place was empty with plenty of seatings. Decor was standard and nothing to rave about. But the food, that's def something to rave about. We ordered egg rolls, shrimp rolls, bbq rolls and scallop dumplings. The egg rolls were different than what I'm used to; it's a bit mushy on the inside. The bbq rolls and the shrimp rolls were probably one of the best I have had. This in part was due to the texture of the rice rolls; it was smooth and silky. The scallop dumplings were small but tasty.
The restaurant is located in a fairly large plaza with plenty of parking. I would recommend going earlier to avoid having to wait as it can get busy.We went on a Saturday morning around 12 and had to wait around 10-15 minutes. You order through scanning a QR code and then food came out very fast. Quality of food was immaculate. Reminds me of the days I was back in China. Loud, busy, and bustling. Exactly the makings of a traditional Chinese restaurant. Would come back to heal my soul.
