Boludo - Minneapolis

Absolutely amazing empanadas! There's truly nothing quite like Boludo in the Twin Cities. The empanadas are consistently fresh and bursting with flavor. Having studied abroad in Argentina, these empanadas take me right back to that experience. Their desserts are fantastic as well. One day, I hope to try their pizza—it looks and smells incredible!

The menu offered a variety of intriguing options, but we opted for a prosciutto pizza and a selection of empanadas. I must say, the empanadas were some of the best I've ever had; each type was delicious, and I would highly recommend any of them. The pizza was excellent too, featuring a wonderfully crispy, wood-fired crust. My only minor complaint was the excessive amount of arugula on the pizza (not a big deal—I just removed some). The beer and wine selection was also impressive, and I was able to sample some unique and less common varieties.

Always excellent! The combination of flavors and textures is really enjoyable. I highly recommend the pepperoni. The angel hair-like cheese can be a bit tricky to eat, but that just enhances the overall experience. A pizza is perfect for two people to share. I love the salty crust. The empanadas are among the best I've ever tasted; they’re flavorful without being overly cheesy, and the pastry dough is buttery and fluffy. The ambiance is very Argentinian, which is fun! It’s self-service, but they do bring the food to your table. Plus, it’s one of the few places that stays open fairly late at night.

You have to visit Boludo! The flavors in their food are so vibrant that you'll want to return quickly. We tried the La Casa salad, Campos pizza, and flan, all of which were fantastic. We visited their downtown Minneapolis location as well as another branch. Omar, the owner's father, was a wonderful host!

One of my favorite pizzas! The pepperoni is just right. The empanadas and Caesar salad are incredible as well. I also love that Bad Bunny is always playing from the speakers! This place has the best atmosphere.
