Bona Vietnamese - Minneapolis

I used to visit Bona frequently during my college days, and ever since then, I've made it a point to return at least once a year. Whenever I'm on campus, this is my go-to spot. Whether it's a rainy or snowy day, enjoying a bowl of pho from Bona is something I always look forward to. My favorite dish is the A1 pho, but I also love ordering the spring rolls, chicken wings, and cream cheese wontons to go along with it. Their soup is amazing, and I like to add a fried egg to my pho; the egg is deep-fried with a nice runny yolk. I highly recommend it!

I've visited this restaurant several times and have also ordered takeout from them multiple times. Each experience has left me satisfied. The ambiance of the shop is adorable, and the staff is incredibly friendly. Today, I ordered through Door Dash. They include all the necessary accompaniments with the pho. I opted for the small size, which is actually more than enough—like three servings all for a budget-friendly price. It comes with a generous portion of broth, noodles, meat, herbs, and onions. There are also sauces on the side, along with bean sprouts, jalapeños, lime, and Thai basil. The broth is exceptionally flavorful, making it a great choice when you're feeling under the weather. I highly recommend checking out Bona—10/10!

The food at this restaurant is truly comforting. I had the sweet and sour pork, which was slightly on the dry side, but the sauce was absolutely perfect. It was a classic sweet and sour pork with rice dish. Next time I visit, I think I'll try one of their noodle dishes!

Ate here often when working at the U. Always the same dish, chicken potato or potato chicken and always very satisfying. Years later seeing they are still going, I grubhubbed an order. Fried rice instead of plain and extra chicken for extra money. Received plain rice and a couple of pieces of chicken and the rest some kind of beef strips ,not very tasty. Maybe they have new management, or out of chicken, or maybe don't care. Grubhub refunded thankfully. Recommend eating there in person.

Bona is walking distance from my son's place on the U of MN campus. He told me about it and I realized I may have come to this place at a different location many years ago. We originally were going to do Pho... But it got to 82 degrees and maybe a bit warm for that. Ordered Hot and Spicy Seafood and Lemongrass Chicken. They were both quite good. Very fresh. Appreciate the cucumbers and tomatoes that cane with.
