They also have the best cheese curds, and all the burgers are great. Everything I 've had off the menu has been good. The bar has a great beer selection and some really good house special cocktails.
I'd argue there isn't a better bar on Payne. The food is amazing. Burgers are bananas. The wings (go off menu with buffalo) are a must try--they're unique and among the best in the cities. Great mac and cheese, amazing salads, wonderful sandwiches, it's all so good. The long wooden bar itself is spectacular, not to mention the 20 local beers on tap and lovely cocktails. The Eastside has a lot to offer, but Brunson's is a must visit.
I don't always comment on my first visit, this however is probably my 9th+ visit to Brunson's Pub and one word comes to mind, consistent! The food is consistently amazing, the service has always been good, if not outstanding. The quality and value has always been remarkable. I think their food has always been consistently good. Favorites have been their dry rub chicken wings (actually thighs), the Pain No Gain burger to name just a few! I honestly haven't found anything on the menu that has been disappointing. Years ago, in the mid 80's this was a classic, east-side bar. Brunson's Pub has definitely upped the game making this a well respected establishment with consistently amazing, high quality food offerings in a warm friendly atmosphere!! The owner Tom is a well represented figure in the establishment making himself available to handle any situation. A very warm, and welcoming establishment. I wish them well and know it won't be long until I'm back again! Thank you!
This has GOT to be some of the best food I've ever had. We loved everything we ordered from the cheese curds (which are the best I've ever had), to the burgers and homemade chips. The sauces are the real star, including the dip for the cheese curds and the dip for the potato chips. The owner came over and checked on us, and everyone was so friendly. Will be making our way there when we go to the Twin Cities again!
We finally had a chance to stop in last night. Wow! Great atmosphere, great setting with some awesome vintage bar signs, comfortable seating and a super attentive crew. I had the pulled bacon sandwich, with home made kettle chips. It was one of the best sandwiches I 've ever had. We can 't wait to go back to 'eat our way through the menu ' as Graham said. The owner Tom said this had been a dream for many years, cheers for making your dream come true! Thank you for making a casual evening drink so grand, we 're going to tell our friends to check it out.
