It is about a 3-4 block walk from us so I 'll start by saying that I really wanted to like Hazel 's but every experience has been super lack luster.First experience was for breakfast, we were meeting with friends that we hadn 't seen in a while. Food was mediocre and the server informed us right after we finished our food that there was an hour limit and that we would need to wrap up, pay, and leave. I get it is a small establishment but that is just an aweful customer experience, especially when the food and service is not special. Most recently went for dinner, I ordered the walleye fish and chips and as I cut into the walleye for the firsr bite I discovered a long hair baked into the fried fish. It completely ruined my appetite. On top of that, the server made zero accomodation for menu adjustment. I asked if they could do a half sized ceasar and they said no, we can 't . I could understand this with another, more complex dish, but this is literally one of the most common salads and so easy to just make a half portion. Most restaurants this is a non-issue.IMO there are so many other places with better food, better service, better atmosphere and better customer service. Hazel 's is mediocre in every way and they really try to play up this quaint small neighborhood restairant atmosphere and vibe but they don 't back that up with anything that really matters.Made the decision I won 't be going back. Parkway pizza is right next door and significantly better in every way. Do yourself a favor and spend your money and breakfast/lunch/dinner at a better establishment.Kid-friendliness: They do have a kids menu.
I just went for the first time. I was NOT disappointed. I ordered my favorite breakfast of Eggs Benedict and it was wonderful. Eggs perfect, and the hollandaise was delicious. I can’t wait to go back and try something else. Not to mention, the Bellini was excellent too.Highly recommend you check it out. But make a reservation because it’s busy!!
Treated myself to an early breakfast midweek. My server was wonderful; she didn't bat an eye when I asked for a small plate of vegetables vs. a fruit cup. I received the best roasted broccoli I've ever had. I also ordered the biscuits and gravy. Very good. The hashbrowns were fabulous- kissed with onion. Will be back.Parking: Only 4 spots in the lot. Others are reserved for delivery drivers and handicap if I recall correctly.
Great classic brunch with just a bit of a twist here and there. The pecan roll yes please! Good vegetarian options, along with some tastefully fried favorites and some options from fried foods ' evil twin un fried food. Service is fast and super friendly and helpful they keep things moving but never make you feel rushed. Reservations may not be required but you 'll be glad to have them.
A building with history, tastefully decorated, and the food was nothing short of amazing. The service was also spot on! I will be retuning everytime I’m here for business!
