Shares the same build your own mechanic as places like Chipotle, but with a Vietnamese menu. The gentleman at the counter asked me if I'd like traditional toppings on the sausage bahn mi I ordered I'm glad he did because I had no idea what I was doing, and it turned out delicious. They also have incredibly airy bread with a nice crispy crust on it.
The grilled pork sandwich was super good; lots of taste and not too much fat. The godfather is fire! The bread has a beautiful soft and fluffy texture. The croissants were pretty good. I would definitely come back to try the different sandwiches. Parking is in the back. No parking on the side or otherwise you will be dragged. Orders more than 4 must be made at the kiosk on the page. The employees did not seem to have found a system to make it clear for the pick-up customer.
Lu's is a fantastic lunch spot and offers a much needed fast-casual dining option to Eat Street. Having tried several of their meat options, I've found them all to be delicious (I'm impartial to the grilled pork/beef) and make sure you get everything on it. The bread is nice and crispy, never tough. Definitely worth a visit!
Severely underrated place. One of the most amazing sandwiches in Minneapolis. The combinations are great. Also I generally don't prefer tofu sandwiches, but the tofu option is amazing here as well. A definite to do item in Minneapolis. Should have 5 stars.
