Solaris Dinner Cruise Loading (in Marina)

We really enjoyed ourselves on this cruise. This was our first kid-free vacation in 20+ years so we wanted to go all out. Our server Chris was excellent. I had the mahi mahi crab, my wife had the short ribs shrimp. Both were excellent. We also ordered an off-menu drink, and the bartender was friendly and eager to make it for us. We also ordered one of the romance packages, and it was totally worth it! The live music was a two-piece husband and wife band, she on a drum kit, and he played everything else. Their musical selection covered everything, from Sinatra to Fleetwood Mac to TLC.

We had 2 couples going together. Of the 4 meals, 2 were very good (chicken and boneless short ribs), shrimp and grits was ok, but very small portion and the crab Mac and cheese too spicy but somehow still lacked flavor.We tried the artichoke dip appetizer which was good. The caso was at best OK. I expected better for $15. The best part of both appetizers was the soft pita bread for dipping. The drinks we got were almost universally too sweet, and didn't seem to have much liquor in them (also $15 each). The two person band was ok, but the sound system too loud for those up front, and lacking in back. The scenery from the boat would be nice in summer, but by late October it was dark by the time we got out of the harbor.Service was pretty good at first, but slow due to wait staff having to go to different floors for food and drinks. A pet peeve of mine is the poor quality pictures they take. Ours was over exposed, and not that sharp. Overall not a bad experience, but not worth the over $150 per person final tab.

So much fun. Food was amazing. Shrimp and grits huge winner but I loved my Mahi. Staff was exceptional. Dancing after dinner under stars fun.

Overall experience was ok, seemed rushed, not as organized as expected and tightly packed tables. Dance floor was small, experience could have been different in nice weather. Food, ok. Not top rated. Overpriced drinks and apps.

We went back for our Anniversary and again the food was amazing along with the service. The braised short ribs were delicious. We had a great time and enjoyed the beautiful views again. We will definitely be back.
