We wished there were more savory options since most of us prefer them over sweets, but the scones were fresh and delicious. The price per person was very reasonable, especially considering high tea season in Victoria had just ended. The food was well-prepared, although the sandwiches were not very fancy. I would recommend this high tea experience to anyone looking to try it out - the value cannot be beat. The tea selection was impressive, with the spiced orange tea being a favorite of mine. The carrot cake was particularly delicious, with just the right amount of sweetness in the icing. You definitely won't leave hungry, as there is plenty of food to enjoy.
The sandwich I ordered for takeout was prepared in no time at all. The vegetables on the sandwich were fresh and the bread was delicious. The service was very friendly and I would definitely return.
I have visited this restaurant twice, once for lunch and once just for coffee. The lunch was average; I had the quiche which left me still feeling hungry, which is uncommon for me. My partner had a soup and sandwich, which he said was good. The coffee was lukewarm, and when I mentioned this to the server while paying, she just shrugged. The bill was higher than expected for a light lunch. We returned for coffee and dessert another time, and the coffee was better - hot and flavorful. The scone and cream were tasty, but again, we found the prices to be too high for what we received.
If you want a great cup of tea and scones, this is the place to come. The ladies are super welcoming and the daily selection of treats are delicious.
The breakfast sandwich is the best! Very good coffee and nice selection of teas in china cups. Reminds me of tea with my grandma.
