The hostess was gracious enough to seat me at a 4 person table as I was not comfortable sitting in the middle of the restaurant at a 2 too.The server was not overly helpful when I told her this was my first time and ask for advice. She simply pointed at three options and said they were very popular. No description or questions of my personal tastes.I chose to start with a fried tofu appraiser as pictured here. It came without napkins or cutlery. The item itself was well prepared hot and very delicious. A napkin would have been helpful The main course (also pictured) came quickly after I finish my appetiter. It was well presented and piping hot. I have not had much ramen in the past so I can only speak for my personal tastes. I ask for level one heat and it was well seasoned and tasty, the noodles were cooked well and veggies were still crisp to the bite.Service during the meal was good, my water was replenished shortly after I finished it, server checked on how I was enjoying my meal but was not over attentive. The atmosphere in the restaurant was as would be expected, hurried and a bit loud but that's what you would expect. Not really an intimate first date restaurant but definitely a second or third date The portion was very appropriate leaving me satisfied with leftover broth to bring home for a late night ramen tonight.Over this was a very satisfying meal and a food value. I definitely plan to return when I am back in this areaI would rate 8 out of 10 and the only real concern would be the lack of a good recommendation from the server.
Now there isn't much choice if you want ramen and you live northwest of Mississauga. In the past I have saved my craving for ramen for when I am in Toronto, where there are many good restaurants to choose from.Kenzo on Burnhamthorpe is a good compromise. It is not as good as the best of the downtown ramen places but it is a whole lot closer and honestly the distance to Toronto is not worth it.I have tried a few places in Mississauga and this is the best I have had. The service was fast and friendly, and the food is made on premises. Often places try to pass off pre-made noodles but here they are freshly made.I had the Black-Tonkotsu which is a Hakata style pork bone soup ramen with black garlic sauce. Very good. And on the side I tried Takoyaki, baked octopus balls filled with octopus, green onion, cheese and shrimp flavouring, on the advice of my daughter, interesting and I would order them again.I will definitely return and have no reservation in recommending this place to friends.
Busy place. The lineups didn't stop us. Great food, great service, love this place and we are coming back. Here's a tip: before you line up make sure write your name on the waiting list located on the wall inside. Tried to buy one of the Kenzo t-shirts, but the girl said I would have to work there first.
I told my boyfriend that I was craving for some Ramen and he bought me here. We had the takoyaki and the king of kings ramen. Omg! The taste was so awesome. you can always ask the server if you really wanted a very milder spice coz i'm trying to avoid too much spice. Very fast and great tasting broth. Way better that the last Ramen place i've been to in Toronto.
I've never been to a ramen noodle house, until now that is. This appears to be a very popular place. It's not huge, and is minimally decorated, but very orderly. I was seated quickly (although a line up started forming shortly after), was served a glass of water. I placed my order from an unfamiliar list of dishes (Gyodon - beef with vegetables on rice). It arrived within 10 minutes along with small salad and miso soup. The food was fresh, tasty an plentiful. This dish normally comes with an over-easy egg mixed in, but the waiter asked if I would prefer it cooked more thoroughly, which I did. A sign on the wall says they make their own noodles and grind their own pork. Quick service, good food, decent price, pleasant atmosphere. Great for lunch. Next time, I'll actually get something with noodles.
