I've tried the jerk chicken dinner, curry chicken and jerk chicken roti. My go to is always the goat/oxtail dinner combo. Their prices are very reasonable and you can taste the love that goes into the cooking. If you come here make sure you ask for a side of plantain. And the hot sauce is actually hot!! I visit at least once a month as I am now back in the area for work. Two months in and this is my 6th visit. You won't be disappointed.
Been a while since I wrote a review , but now i have lots to say and will keep em coming ! I wanted to try this place for a while now. I have read numerous reviews on Yelp about this place. First thing to mention, the have renovated their outdoor sign and the shop looks much nicer now. This place is just off Tomken and Eglington in Mississauga. It can be easily missed as it is tucked away on a unusual industrial looking plaza in the corner. Don't let that fool you- as someone has already mentioned. I came here very early at 11:03 am to be exact ( they open at 11) and i was worried i was to early. To my suprise they already had 3 customers inside and one the customers was already eating a roti !!! ( Maybe they open up earlier just for him lol ) The menu is fantastic they have all your standard Caribbean dishes ( except no festivals or fried dumplings but that's okay !). I ordered the large Jerk Chicken dinner with rice and peas ( $10 and it was huge portion !) and a side of Dhalpuri Roti ($2.75) in all was $14 bucks i left $20 for tip also. The service is very chilled and relaxed so don't expect first class dining. The shop has about 7-8 small tables to dine. I also wanted to get the fried plantain but they said they were sold out, so that was the only downside. Also the Jerk Chicken didn't really have much kick to it or maybe it is just me as i over eat spicy foods. Very tender chicken overall, the coleslaw was very fresh and not drowned in mayo or cream, the roti was very fresh and just in all , absolutely delicious food. It was still hot when I came back to the office. Will add picture of this goodness.Oh yes if you are wondering....I ate absolutely everything. To the last crumb. MUST TRY !!!
Visit the restaurant today after reading all the positive comments. We notice that the shop was empty we ordered a shrimp and chicken roti the roti is was tasty good sized but once open it was full of potato and this not an exaggeration there was only 3 shrimp in the Roti we would have taken it back If it wasn't so far.
Small place with amazing recipes for jerk. That's their secret, it will not matter staying in the line up or the smaller space. Tables will not fit the amount of customer their awesome cooking brings in. Of the beaten path on a industrial little plaza you will find the best jerk anywhere in the world. Try boneless jerk chicken and DO NOT ask for spicy. Be prepared to be amazed and sweat how delicious and mouthwatering their family past down recipe is. Place lines up with people at normal eating hours so try to go there in between to avoid line ups. Probably best to take out. You will be back
A friend of mine recommended this place to me; so finally made the trip there. Initial impression (from the look of the restaurant is that it would be bad); man does he food taste so good (and clean). We had the jerk chicken and jerk ox-tail (both recommended). And the food is Halal (for Halal concise patrons).
