We came here shortly before the conclusion of one day and picked up a bunch of our baked goods (muffins, donuts and cakes). We knew we missed the meal, but the next day we went back for lunch. Everything was amazing, like the room. We also bought some pre-packed goods, and after the fact warn 't sure they were vegan or not (our translate apps were 't very clear). We asked that an employee here is vegan and she answered confidently yes. We asked about our purchases, even those? at what point did she have to check the ingredients on the package. Both items we bought were vegan, but the fact that they made a double check made us wonder if maybe not everything they sell is vegan. Can confirm just to be safe.
This place is an absolute jewel! The food we had (the lunchtime and two desserts) was made creative and incredibly delicious! The place is spacious inside and the outside is beautifully surrounded by greenery. The staff was nice and you could speak a lot of English. It is in the hills so you need a car to get there, but it is worth the ride. Follow the signs. When we went (Sept 2019) they were only Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays and holidays, 9-11am for breakfast, 11:00-2:30am for lunch, and 2:30-5am for afternoon tea, but that could change, though so best to call forward.
Zeal is about 15 minutes' drive from the center of Miyazaki, but it is worth the trip. The café is huge, with a garden, children's playground, reading area etc. The whole food is vegan and the small shop sells local organic vegetables and dried foods. The restaurant is no longer a buffet since the pandemic and there is no English menu. But the choice is simple: only one morning ¥880) and a lunch ¥1540), plus drinks and cakes. The food was tasty, but the café would be a great place to spend the whole afternoon, relax and let your children walk around.
