This place is a hidden gem! It's the cutest little restaurant with the most delicious ramen and seafood. I'm so glad I discovered it during my travels. I ordered the shrimp tempura sushi taco, the pork belly ramen in pork broth, and the loaded fries, and everything was outstanding. The service was excellent, and the food was delivered quickly, too!
What really bothered me was the double pork belly I ordered. It was mostly just fat, with some pieces tasting burnt instead of savory like the ramen I'm used to. The cuts didn’t offer a good balance of meat and fat either. I tried to return it, but since I had taken a few bites, they wouldn't allow it. However, I only managed to eat about five percent before I decided to stop, and I had separated the fatty pieces from any meat, clearly showing there was a disproportionate amount of fat. I expected them to address my concern, especially since I was polite about it. It’s frustrating that they didn’t rectify the issue. I chose to let it go to avoid fuss, and I still left a tip of $7 for the waitress, despite the service being less than ideal. I felt that it was unfair for her to be the one to handle my complaint when it should have been addressed by management. When I received my check from a male staff member afterward, it made me feel even more uncomfortable, as if the waitress had been scared of me, which has never happened to me before. Overall, I don’t plan to return, as I didn’t feel welcome there. Even if they tried to make amends now, I believe the issue should have been taken care of during my visit. Unfortunately, since I'm new to Alabama, my search for a great ramen shop to match those I've visited in other states continues.
I visited this restaurant because the sign in the window caught my attention. The dumplings were delicious, but at $6 for just four, they didn't seem worth the price. My 5-year-old's noodles were incredibly greasy, and she couldn't eat them. On a positive note, the sushi was excellent. However, I was disappointed with the pork belly ramen. The noodles had a strange texture, and the pork was smoked, giving it a flavor reminiscent of barbecue ribs in ramen, which didn't work for me. The broth was also unappetizing; neither my son nor I could finish it.
Everything was about average. The ramen was about a 6 out of 10. The sushi was about a 5 out of 10. The octopus appetizers were okay. The sushi taco was plain. If your hungry it would probably taste better, the staff was slow, the refills on water was nothappening. I have have at least 3 better sushi experiences in Mobile, AL
