It is a great family atmosphere and I felt very comfortable and relaxed. This place offers large hammocks to hang in and even better food! You'll get your money.
I tried the fried fish bites and the ceviche. Both were delicious. Most of all I appreciated the welcoming atmosphere by the restaurant owners and outdoor seating. It was neat to sit just a stone's throw away from the the field where some of the...food for their plates is sourced. I would definitely return for another experience at this restaurant.
My sisters and I stopped her after spending a day visiting the ruins just outside of town. I was little skeptical as we walked down a dirt road but had heard amazing things, both about the friendly family who runs the restaurant and the delicious...food! At this point, we were exhausted and rested on hammocks in a gorgeous open field lined with trees. You can see Cerro Blanco (a mountain) in the distance. Once the food was ready, we were called in for lunch. The food was delicious and we tried a variety of different Peruvian and local Trujian dishes. The family who runs this spot is so extremely welcoming and hospitable. I highly recommend to anyone traveling through Peru BACKPACKERS VERY WELCOME!
We stopped here on our way back from Huca de la Luna. The owners and their two children were so welcoming and friendly to us tourists, which can be a little hard to find in Peru, especially since only one person in our party spoke...spanish. They invited into the kitchen to watch how they prepare the meals their kitchen was beautiful and was spotless, something else that you can't always find in Peru. They were willing and able to prepare a vegetarian dish for me (since I'm vegetarian), which can also be challenging to find in Peru. My favorite was the Marracuya (passion fruit) juice the owners brought us refills as we couldn't get enough! The food was so full of flavor and truly felt like it was made with love. There were hammocks outside to relax on or take a siesta before or after the meal. We definitely took advantage of this.
