Poke Bowl- Pelandale - Modesto

Not bad?..better yet I am thoroughly impressed. I definitely got what I paid for. I ordered the 3 protein bowl, $13.99 and I got my money?s worth. Quality food and fast service. Not the friendliest but enough to bring me back next time. Their wasabi sauce is hecka strong. I LIKE IT!!! I will definitely be returning here next time. Quality: A Price: A Service: A Recommendation: Watch out, their wasabi sauce is strong. Highly recommended if you like lotsa wasabi ????????????

Consistently good, ahi is fresh, medium bowl is very filling.

Their poke bowls are so fresh and they give you a good amount of food. Getting the small bowl filled me up. Thank you guys. Your spicy mayo is delicious ????.

I am not from Modesto and I stopped by this place due to the 4 star review I saw online. I have been to many poke places and it takes a lot for me to be disappointed when it comes to food in general, but this place is a big disappointment. I made my own poke bowl and was so excited to eat it, but when I got home (15 min later) and opened it, I noticed a weird smell. I tasted it and my initial bite was very off. At first I thought it might be the combination of food that was in the bowl (brown rice, tuna, salmon, scallops, etc) but I then noticed after a few more bites the smell was coming from the rice. After closer inspection I realized the rice was actually bad as in spoiled and no longer okay to eat. I know this because I make rice myself often and know when rice has gone bad. It had a sticky weird film to it with an off putting smell like it had maybe been sitting outside for awhile. I had to throw it all away. WASTE of MONEY and don't recommend.

I understand that Modesto is not a hot spot for fresh seafood but I mean if you are going to have a poke establishment you should at least consider having fresh ingredients. I got a large bowl of frozen fish and other fixings. The place looks old and dirty and just ugly. I'm sorry but I am just being honest. I will not be coming back and hope that one day there is a poke spot in Modesto worth visiting.
