Mcalister's Deli - Moline

The restaurant is quite clean, has friendly staff providing excellent service, and offers a fantastic variety of choices.

I accidentally melted my tumbler in the dishwasher, which I had been using for 99-cent refills. When I called this location to see if they still sold them so I could replace mine, I found out they don’t. As a result, they won’t honor my 99-cent refills anymore since I can’t use the cup, and now the drink price is $3.09 (I believe) plus tax. Because of this, I won’t be stopping by multiple times a week for drinks anymore.

When I arrived, there was a moderate crowd, with one person being served ahead of me and a large order for a table of six in front of me as well. It took 20 minutes to receive my to-go order of sweet tea, the club sandwich, and a bag of chips. The woman who took my order, wearing a dark blue polo shirt, and a short girl with glasses in the kitchen were doing a fantastic job, especially considering they were being yelled at by the woman at the register. The woman in the polo was managing both the register and the back, trying to keep everything moving. I can’t give a full five stars for the service, though, as the negative attitude from the lady at the register really detracted from the atmosphere. A little etiquette training for her might go a long way. However, I do want to give a shout-out to the two employees who were working hard amidst the chaos.

I recently had one of the worst lunch experiences I've ever encountered, and it compelled me to write this review. I waited over 30 minutes for two sandwiches and a salad, while others who ordered after me received their food promptly. To make matters worse, one of my sandwiches was forgotten. The staff had to take extra time to figure out where it went. And as if that wasn't enough, I paid over $10 for their new "Goddess Salad," expecting chicken, only to find it was just plain lettuce. I drove 30 minutes home with nothing but disappointment. The whole restaurant seemed disorganized and chaotic in the back. The only positive aspect was the sweet employee taking orders at the front; she was polite and did her job well!

The restaurant has a lovely atmosphere; it's clean and cozy. We look forward to dining in once it's safer to do so. We ordered takeout, which took a bit longer than expected, but it was definitely worth the wait. The food was delicious, and we are eager to try more dishes from this place in the future.
