Lineage Chinese Restaurant used to be Dumpling Workshop, before DW was sold. OUr first visit to the restaurant under the new owners was a very pleasant surprise. Still the same great value for money and simply wonderful dumplings, crisp vegetarian spring rolls and great Peking Duck Pancakes. What struck me was the freshness of the ingredients. The dumplings melted in our mouth and everything we ate was delicious. As there is no other dumpling restaurant within a kilometre of this one, I suspect we are going to be regulars....

There were plenty of tables available when I arrived just before noon on a Saturday.

I should have known better than to trust the Time Out guide for dumplings in Melbourne.

It was okay, but not exceptional.
