Podnuh's B-q - Monroe

I love everything about Johnny T's in Lafayette! You should definitely give it a try, I hear the food is amazing and it's owned by the same people.

We received gift certificates for two meat plates and decided to take a break from Christmas shopping to try Podnuh's BBQ in Monroe. The restaurant has a delightful aroma and inviting atmosphere upon entering, but unfortunately, our experience was tainted when we reached the counter. The server was incredibly rude and initially refused to allow us to order ribs with our meal, despite the sign clearly stating that ribs were an option. After a supervisor intervened and confirmed that we could indeed include ribs, the server begrudgingly served us and overcharged my husband for a quarter chicken as a third meat instead of just charging the difference between the two and three meat plates.

I left Podnuh's 30 minutes ago and am now at a restaurant in West Monroe. I enjoy Podnuh's food, but the staff today appeared uninterested in serving us. After waiting uncomfortably for a while as 3 workers avoided eye contact, chatted among themselves, and one even went on her phone, we decided to leave. As someone who works in the service industry, I am usually understanding towards staff, but today's experience was awkward and not how a guest should be treated. I gave an extra star for past positive experiences.
