Shogun Japanese Steak House

This place has been a special one for our family for as long as i can remember remember. Back in the 90s, it was the only hibachi place around, I've tried others Nakama (Southside) and a few other locations and names that I can't remember. Shogun is still the best in every way, food, and especially the service. Today, we had an amazing chef who has been working there for 18 years. I don't know his name, unfortunately, but he was an awesome chef who was easy to joke around with and made sure we had a wonderful time. Food was cooked perfectly as always, and the ladies are wonderful as well. She made sure our glasses were full and that we were satisfied. I'd say 10 out of 10, they hit it out the park again. Thank you all for a wonderful time celebrating 3 birthday both my parents. Our friend of the family turned 83 today. Tomorrow is my father's birthday and the 11th is my mother's. Happy birthday! Used to be a great place to go but now it is dirty, dark, and poorly taken care of. From dirty floors, to uncleaned grills, to rust on cooking services it has unfortunately seen much better days. The service is fantastic. The food is great. The cook was sociable and the waitress was kind and caring. I visited with my grandma, who can be tempermental, she had nothing to say and was very impressed with the restaurant. Kid-friendliness: Non-smoking though alcohol is served upon ordering. Not much of a show. Food was dry. Rice hard. Chicken, shrimp overcooked. Bathroom needed to be mopped. Floors sticky. Tip included automatically for not a great experience. Meal almost $40.00. Wouldn't go there again. Service: Dine in Meal type: Dinner Price per person: $30–50
