Chez Le Gaulois - Mont-de-Lans

One of the best cheese fondues ever if not the best. Simple and delicious. Friendly atmosphere and special interior. Rock n roll!

Called in looking for light lunch on the first day of our hols. As a party of 4 we each ordered a Hotdog de Gaulois. Absolutely delicious but extremely large in a baguette. One between two people would have been more than enough. Highly recommend.

By day this is a delicatessen but by evening they use the space for a unique and special dining experience for only about 14 people. YOU MUST BOOK. Using all the produce in the deli they create some of the best Fondue I have ever tasted. They are the only one in the town to serve a fondue with the ubiquitous Beaufort with Tomme de Montagne. The result is sublime and not to be missed. The cheese is also cut and prepared at the deli counter so you know just how fresh it all is. Great value too at 30 Euro for two. The experience is quite rustic as the place is small but the ambience is great with the couple serving you being very attentive. They are also very generous if you run out of meat with your fondue (if it comes with it as not all of them do) then you can have as much as you want. The wine list is limited but good for the size of the place. Definitely worth a visit if fondue is your thing.

Great moment at Le Gaulois very good reasoned raclette with possibility to ask again when we finish forming! I recommend 100%! Thanks also for the mint watermelon
