I only found out upon arrival, despite having confirmed via email the day before. They offered us a spot at their upscale restaurant, but my two young sons were in the mood for burgers, which are only available on the Pool Club menu. Unfortunately, the manager refused to accommodate our request for burgers, which I found disappointing, especially considering we weren’t notified about the cancellation of our reservation. Instead, we decided to get takeout from a nearby restaurant that serves burgers. We ended up eating at the Pool Club tables, and I must say the food was quite good—I recommend the pizza. The views were absolutely stunning! However, the customer service left much to be desired.
We had a great dining experience at the main restaurant at Gurney's Star Island, so we thought the Pool Club would be a safe choice. Our son ordered grilled chicken with his Caesar Salad, and while the waiter acknowledged the order, the salad arrived without the chicken. We asked the waiter to bring the grilled chicken, but nothing arrived. Eventually, another server had to step in to assist us. We were quite frustrated by this. The Pinot Noir served by the glass was undrinkable, and there were no desserts available. We’re not sure if this was a tactic to turn over tables faster, but it left us disappointed. Although they did comp us for the missing chicken and the poor glass of wine, we have no intention of returning. There are far better options available elsewhere. The only positive aspect I can mention is that the setting is lovely.
This restaurant exceeded all our expectations. It had a wonderful energy and ambiance, making for a romantic setting by the yacht harbor. The service was excellent, and the food was outstanding. The menu offered a variety of creative and exciting choices.
I booked some weeks before our visit. in the night of our reservation gurneys has closed the pool club restaurant and never let me know. I found it at the arrival after the confirmation by email on the day. they offered us a place in their upscale restaurant, but my two young sons wanted burgers who are only on the pool club menu. the many would not be hosting us with burgers that I thought terrible after they didn't even let us know that they canceled our reservation. we decided to take out the take-out restaurant where they serve burger. we ate at the pool club tables, eating was good. I recommend the pizza. the prospects are spectacular! customer service, not so much.
We have eaten well in the main restaurant in gurney’s star island, so we thought that the pool club would be a safe bet. our son asked for grilled chicken with his caesar saladar. the waiter said: fine, good, but then the salate came without the chicken, so we asked the waiter to get him a grilled bun. nothing came. Finally, another server had to get him for us. we were not amusing. pinot noir through the glass was inconceivable. no desserts available. is this a way to move tables faster? I don't know. they have composed us for the chicken caesar and the bad glass of the weine, but we have absolutely no intention to ever go back. there are just too many better decisions out there. the only thing I have to say is that it is a beautiful environment.
